The Society of St James – Homeless enjoy football programme with Aldershot Town Football Club

The Society of St James (SSJ), along with the Home Group, has been working in Aldershot for about a year to help get long term rough sleepers off the streets and into our accommodation at North Lane Lodge. When SSJ first began working in Aldershot the Rough Sleeping Outreach team reported around 30 people sleeping rough. They are now reporting three people sleeping rough. The work that SSJ is doing has been helped by Aldershot Town Football Club through the Shots Foundation who are working with SSJ and other charities on a new 16-week football programme for local homeless people. This was made possible by a community grant from the Aldershot Park Ward. The aim of the programme is to help get people back into society, get exercise and make friends, using the power of sport
