Crown Simmons Housing named as Top Employer
Crown Simmons Housing has been recognised as a Top 20 Employer for 2016 in the Inside Housing Innovation Index.
Founded in 1957, Crown Simmons Housing has grown to provide homes and services for over 1000 people. Future plans also include acquiring and developing up to 130 new homes in the next five years.
Crown Simmons placed at number 17 on The Top Employers list which includes those housing organisations that outperform the UK norm (the average score from hundreds of UK organisations across all sectors). Among more than 1200 housing organisations nationwide, this year the list recognised 45 organisations.
Paul Yates, Chief Executive at Crown Simmons Housing said: "I am absolutely thrilled with this result. The last year has seen massive change for the sector and we have had to react and innovate. The result is testimony to the culture we are looking to create here – innovation is one of the 5 values that we use to underpin our work."
The Innovation Index highlights housing organisations with a caring, creative and can-do culture that supports innovative practices in the workplace. Results are based on staff responses to an in-depth survey carried out by Inside Housing magazine’s research partner Dolphin Index.
Emma Maier, editor-in-chief of Inside Housing magazine said: "Housing providers are facing huge challenges and innovation is crucial to being successful in the future. The results of the 2016 Innovation Index highlight those that are serious about creating a culture that engages employees and supports them to innovate and the organisation to succeed."
Mark Brown, chief executive of Dolphin Index, said: "We can give our tenants and employees a much better life. People can have much more enjoyable lives at work in ways that drive more successful organisations."
